Hiya,
I will be in the Cornwall area on holiday (coming from Santa Cruz, CA, USA) and am hoping to come by and catch a Master's Swimming or Water Polo practice. However, this site doesn't list the physical address for the pool? I'd like to map the location before I leave the states assuming that I can drop in for a practice. Thanks for your time! Patricia

My daughter Alice is going to the Youth Nationals this year and we are on holiday next week in the area and she would like to drop into your A squad sessions during the evenings if possible just to keep on top of her training (and to keep her coach off her back). She is 14 and swim for City of Chester. If thats in order could someone please drop me a text.

Thanks
Chris Howarth

Hi.My 9yr old daughter swims for our local club - we're having the summer holidays at Sennen and she doesn't want to drop her training. Could she join as a guest for the 6-7 week period of the holidays ? She would probably be a sporadic attendee depending on the beach conditions etc but it would at least help her to keep on top of the times. Cheers for now, Steve B

My name is David Feakes and I run the British Long Distance Swimming Associations (BLDSA) annual Postal Swim.

The objective of the Postal Swim is to encourage people of any ability to participate in and enjoy swimming whether young or old, male or female, able bodied or disabled. Approximately 1,800 swimmers participate in the Postal Swim each year with the aim being for each swimmer to swim as far as they can in one hour. Every entrant receives a cloth badge as a souvenir of the event with medals being awarded in each age group. If you would like more details of the 2008 Postal Swim, please let me have your email address and I will forward the details on to you.

Sorry I have not visited the site before, Ella & Tegan have not looked back since joining the club.
Everyone who gives up their time for the club really deserve a big thank you from all the members 'and parents' in our case.
One suggestion I would make is a possible contact tel no in case of a need to make contact outside of Club sessions.
This may already be the case if so I do apologise but would appreciate any details being sent.

Good Luck to everyone on Saturday !

I want to say a huge thank you to Jim and Bridgit for organising the brilliant Leicester trip. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and, in return, we are looking forward to hosting next August. I can't recommend getting involved with the twinning enough.
Overall, I considered the week end to be a net success!!!!!

Hi,
I am glad the Jubilee pool is still going, my grandmother Betty Ppiper was one of the first attendants (Lifeguard) at the pool, I have a picture 1935, dressed in a long white skirt and white top with a beri, she was a Newlyn Harbour swimmer, she set a record form Newlyn to the Mount in 1935. Her father Sydney also a swimmer coached her.
As a child i used the jubilee pool every day in the summer months, met loads of friends. Keep the swimming events up and good luck in all you do.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am the Great Britain Deaf Swimming Director and am responsible for the selection to major international competitions such as ?Deaflympics?, World and European Deaf Swimming Championships, plus other international friendly competitions.

We are looking for more swimmers with potential for the next Deaflympics in 2009 at Taipei, Taiwan (followed by the Europeans at Estonia in 2010 and Worlds at Portugal in 2011). I am asking if your club has (or knows of) any Deaf or Hard of Hearing Swimmers who would meet the international hearing loss criterion of 55dB in ones better ear over an average of 500/1000/2000 Hertz.

Our squad has a mixture of orally orientated and sign language swimmers who enjoy each others company when they meet and work hard for the team. We recently won one silver and 4 bronze medals at the recent World Deaf Swimming Championships at Taipei, Taiwan.

If your club has a Deaf/Hard of Hearing swimmer please let me know and ask them to send me their audiogram for checking and also their personal best times for all strokes and distances in both Long and Short Courses.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards

Vincent Dickson

Hey to all I haven't spoken to already, how are we? In Southern California at the moment, which is awesome. At university, not so awesome! Lots of work! That aside I've taken up rowing and turned my hands into knobbly goblin hands and I've now got legs like tree trunks! Will probably sink when I get back in the water again. Hope all is well at home. What you do in training will happen in a race! Lots of love x

A new website has been launched with the aim of helping people in sports and leisure activities find their lost property; the website is www.lostkit.co.uk.

Report any property you've lost at any weekend activity, event or meeting across the UK and we'll try to track it down, or if you've found something, report it and we'll hopefully find the owner.

Note that we have added a link from wwww.lostkit.co.uk to the ASA website. Please advertise and use the service - it's free!!

Just thought I'd leave a nice little comment for you guys down-south to read. Uni is great, swimming club is good, it's not Penzance, but it passes. I seldom train more than zero times a week though, it's rather pricey up here! Hope lots of new pbs have been gotten from the new pool! Anyway, I'd best be off.
Remember: Drills done 99% right, are 100% wrong, and FAST LEGS!

Happy new year everyone! Went into Sydney village and saw the most amazing fireworks ever! Then proceeded to spend the rest of the night/morning on a boat in the harbour! Quite a stroke of luck I thought! Australians know how to do firework displays. Me again! beginning to wonder if anyone is reading this! Or just ignoring me! Well I'm alive and well, you can't escape the Blewett that easily. Camping illegally on the Northern beaches, just north of Sydney. Life is very cheap, well living costs at least. What I'm saving on accommodation somehow seems to get spent on other things. I distribute junk mail for a job! So much fun. It does allow me to wander round Sydney all day and get paid for it so it's not all bad. In the process of sorting out Christmas on Bondi- how to keep the champers cool and the cheesecake non-melted! I am going to miss clotted cream so much though. Hope you're all well. Send me some mail and let me know how things are! Lots of love me xx
